Arrival

Summit guests arriving at The Salamander Resort & Spa throughout the day will be greeted by members of the Inova Health Foundation team. Upon arrival, Summit guests will receive an itinerary of the weekend's events included in a welcome packet, check-in assistance as needed and access to an assortment of healthy refreshments.

3:00 pm - Camp Salamander Kickoff

Inova Summit is for the entire family! Youth and teens, ages 4-17, look forward each year to a weekend packed with fun and challenging activities.

6:00 pm – Thought Leadership Weekend Welcome Reception

Begin the weekend catching up with old friends and making new acquaintances while sipping local wines and enjoying hors d'oeuvres at the Welcome Reception hosted by resort owners Sheila Johnson. The reception offers and excellent opportunity to meet in person Inova physicians, members of the leadership team and some of the Summit's featured thought leaders.

7:00 pm – Building a Lasting Legacy - Untold Stories from Behind the Lights featuring Dr. Nathanial Hearne Presented by U.S. Trust

H.G. Bissinger's book, Friday Night Lights: A Town, A Team, and A Dream followed the story of the 1988 Permian High School football team in Odessa, Texas. It became a national bestseller, was made into a movie and eventually a television series. Dr. Nathanial Hearne, one of the coaches at Permian, influenced the lives of several players on that team. Dr. Hearne will share much more than another sports story. Anyone responsible for leading others will benefit from the principles of excellence Dr. Hearne presents through real-life stories.

Following Dr. Hearne's remarks, the evening will conclude with dessert and dancing to one of the region's top bands, DC Fusion.

Participate in the Fall Festival Party where a BBQ dinner will be provided. The night will continue with a zip line ride and other supervised lawn games

9:00 - 11:00 pm: Night Hike

Explore the woods like never before with this night hike. Experience the animals and sights that can only be seen once the sun goes down.

8:00 - 10:00 am: Breakfast and Nature Walk with a Visit to the Culinary Gardens

Start off the day with a fresh breakfast made to order. Then take a stroll down to the culinary gardens to learn more about the fresh ingredients used in food.

10:00 am - 12:00 pm: Inova Fit Camp

Get up and get active! Try out the Kangaroo Boots or join in the GROOVE Dance class with instructor Karen King. Rotate through different fun fitness stations like Hand Ball and Field Goal Kicking Contest.

12:00 - 2:30 pm: Art Class

Take full advantage of your creativity with Art Instructor, Mary Jennings. As you work on your masterpiece work of art, a box lunch will be delivered to you.

2:30 - 4:00 pm: Family Activity

Take some time off and explore downtown Middleburg with the Family Middleburg Scavenger Hunt! This fun filled scavenger hunt will take you all around Middleburg as you and your family hunt for clues.

6:00 - 9:30 pm: Animal Encounter Party

Experience a wild time with games, crafts , and inflatable obstacle course, and a pizza dinner. Then enjoy an "up close" presentation as naturalist and master falconer Jennifer Westhoff showcases various native and exotic animals.

9:30 - 10:00 pm: Movie Night & Late Night Games

Curl up and watch a popular children's comedy! While the movie plays, older children will have the option to participate in some late night games.
